Vienna International Airport (VIE) has secured another major passenger experience accolade after the VIENNA Lounge was named Europe’s best airport lounge for the third consecutive year.

The recognition was awarded at the Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2026, which are based on more than 700,000 passenger reviews submitted across the global Priority Pass programme.

Vienna Airport lounge award highlights premium passenger experience focus

According to Vienna Airport, the award reflects continued investment in premium passenger services and hospitality as airports increasingly compete through experience driven infrastructure.

The VIENNA Lounge was named “Lounge of the Year, Europe Winner”, placing it as the highest rated lounge in Europe within the Priority Pass network.

The network currently includes more than 1,800 airport lounges and travel experiences across 146 countries.

Vienna Airport stated that more than one million passengers used the VIENNA Lounge and SKY Lounge facilities during 2025 for the first time.

Julian Jäger, joint Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Vienna Airport, said the achievement demonstrates the airport’s commitment to quality, hospitality and premium passenger service.

The VIENNA Lounge spans approximately 2,500 square metres and includes relaxation rooms, shower facilities, meeting spaces and panoramic views across the airport apron.

The airport said the facility was designed to reflect Viennese culture and hospitality through architecture, interior design, cuisine and artwork.

Design elements inspired by the “Vienna School” aesthetic are integrated throughout the lounge, alongside high quality reproductions of works by Austrian artists including Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.

The artwork has been developed through collaboration with the Leopold Museum in Vienna.

Food and beverage services are operated by DoN group, Austria’s largest privately owned catering company, which has managed the airport lounges since 2021.

The airport stated that the lounge’s culinary offering focuses on Austrian hospitality and locally inspired premium dining experiences.

The latest recognition reflects wider growth in passenger demand for premium airport experiences as travellers increasingly seek comfort, wellness and personalised services within airport terminals.

Airports globally are continuing to invest in lounge infrastructure, hospitality services and passenger wellbeing facilities to improve dwell time and strengthen commercial performance.

Christopher Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Collinson International, said demand for premium travel experiences continues reaching record levels.

He added that travellers increasingly expect quality, flexibility and authentic local experiences as part of the airport journey.

For Vienna Airport, the repeated success of the VIENNA Lounge supports broader efforts to position the airport as a premium European hub focused on passenger comfort and service quality.

The airport said the lounge forms part of its wider strategy to combine operational efficiency with hospitality driven passenger experiences as international travel demand continues growing.
