Torino Airport (TRN) has completed a major redevelopment of its boarding lounge, introducing expanded retail, dining and passenger facilities as part of its long-term strategy to support growing passenger numbers and improve the airport experience.

The renovation transforms the departure area from a predominantly single-level layout into a two-level passenger environment connected by a new escalator. The redesign has created additional retail space beyond the security checkpoint while improving passenger flows and making commercial areas more accessible throughout the terminal.

The project forms part of Torino Airport’s wider terminal modernisation programme, which aims to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate continued traffic growth. During the first six months of 2026, the airport welcomed almost 2.9 million passengers, representing a 17.3% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Passenger journey enhanced through terminal redevelopment

A key feature of the redevelopment is the opening of a new Eataly food and retail concept on the upper departures level. Developed in partnership with Avolta, the 530m² facility combines restaurant, café and retail space, offering local and Italian food products alongside quick-service dining options.

The new facility includes a dedicated market, grab-and-go food area, chocolate selection, coffee shop and restaurant with seating for 156 passengers. Menus feature Eataly’s signature dishes alongside recipes inspired by Turin’s culinary heritage.

In addition to the new dining offer, passengers can now access a range of enhanced facilities on the upper level, including a renovated Baby Lounge, Fun & Game Area, Working Area, smoking terrace and significantly larger restroom facilities.

The redevelopment has also included the expansion and repositioning of retail outlets throughout the boarding lounge. A total of 10 retail brands have been incorporated into the redesigned commercial area, covering approximately 1,150m², while the upper level provides an additional 480m² of passenger space.

Andrea Andorno, Chief Executive Officer of Torino Airport, said the investment reflects the airport’s commitment to improving passenger facilities while supporting future growth.

“The results recorded in the first part of 2026 confirm the need to continue in this direction. Investing in the quality of the spaces, the functionality of the routes, and the expansion of services means responding in a concrete way to the new needs of passengers and supporting the development of the airport with an increasingly efficient, welcoming, and recognisable experience.”
