Sydney Airport (SYD) and Plaza Premium Group (PPG) will open a new 113-seat Plaza Premium Lounge in T2 Domestic in early December 2026, giving domestic passengers access to a pay-per-use lounge ahead of the busy end-of-year travel period.

The lounge will be the first independent, non-airline-operated lounge in Sydney Airport’s domestic precinct. It will be available to departing passengers regardless of airline, ticket class or frequent flyer status.

Located beyond security, the lounge will feature contemporary design, quiet workspaces, high-speed connectivity, locally inspired food and beverage offerings, barista coffee and a full-service bar. Access will be by advance booking or walk-in.

The opening will coincide with the completion of Sydney Airport’s $200 million T2 redevelopment. With the new lounge, PPG will operate six airport hospitality products at the airport, making it the group’s largest airport presence in Australia.

The lounge forms part of PPG’s $20 million investment programme in Australia over the next 24 months, marking the group’s 10-year anniversary in the country. The programme also includes a complete rebuild of its Brisbane International lounge and a new domestic lounge planned for Cairns Airport (CNS) in early 2027.

Sydney Airport Group Executive Commercial Mark Zaouk said the new lounge reflects the airport’s continued focus on providing passengers with greater choice and premium travel experiences.

“We’re delighted to expand our partnership with Plaza Premium Group and welcome this new domestic lounge to T2.”

“This new pay-per-use lounge gives travellers greater flexibility and convenience, whether they’re travelling for business or leisure, while reinforcing our commitment to offering premium experiences across the airport.”

Plaza Premium Group Chief Transformation Officer Mei Mei Song said the Sydney lounge marked a new phase of growth for the group in Australia.

“Australia has become one of our most important growth markets globally, and this $20 million investment reaffirms our long-term commitment to the region.”
