Noida International Airport (DXN) is expected to commence commercial operations on 15 June 2026, marking the official opening of India’s newest major airport development.

The airport, developed and operated by Flughafen Zürich AG, will begin operations with a single runway and a passenger terminal designed to support efficient passenger processing and reduced walking distances.

Noida International Airport opening supports Delhi aviation growth

IndiGo will operate the airport’s first scheduled commercial flight, with Akasa Air and Air India Express expected to begin services shortly afterwards.

Further information regarding routes, schedules and passenger services is expected to be announced closer to launch.

The airport is expected to play a major role in supporting aviation growth around Delhi by reducing pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), currently one of India’s busiest airports.

Initially, Noida International Airport will be capable of handling up to 12 million passengers annually. Long term development plans include multiple expansion phases, eventually increasing capacity to 70 million passengers per year alongside the addition of a second runway.

Daniel Bircher, Chief International Officer at Zurich Airport Ltd., described the opening as a significant milestone for the company’s international operations.

The project reflects continuing growth in India’s aviation market and increasing investment in airport infrastructure to support rising passenger demand and regional connectivity.
