George Bush Intercontinental Airport transitions Air France and KLM to Terminal E, advancing redevelopment plans and introducing streamlined international check in and security processing.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) have introduced a new check in process for international passengers as Houston Airports relocates Air France and KLM from Terminal D to the expanded Terminal E.
The transition marks a significant milestone in the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program and signals the start of its final delivery phase. International passengers flying with Air France and KLM will now check in at Terminal E before proceeding through a 17 lane TSA security checkpoint equipped with TSA Precheck and CLEAR+. Lounge facilities remain unchanged.
Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports, said: “This is about giving our passengers the world-class experience they deserve the moment they walk into the terminal. As we prepare to welcome soccer fans and introduce new nonstop flights to Rome this summer, Terminal E serves as a source of pride for Houstonians and reflects the city’s role as a leading international gateway and improves efficiency for our passengers.”
Terminal E enhancements include self service bag drop stations supported by the Amadeus bag drop system, making IAH the first airport in Texas and second in the United States to deploy the platform. Additional features comprise self service kiosks, expanded kerb capacity with 11 departure and eight arrival lanes, pre security dining, secure side concessions including Einstein Bros. Bagels and Chick-fil-A, and a high definition LED Oculus installation.
Customer service representatives are positioned in Terminals D and E to guide passengers during the phased transition. Travellers arriving at Terminal D will be redirected to Terminal E via a short walk, while parking arrangements remain unchanged with access via the C D E or A B garages.
Further airline relocations to Terminal E will follow in the coming weeks.
