Cologne Bonn Airport has expanded its ground transport offering through a new partnership with Uber, introducing a dedicated collection area designed to simplify onward journeys for passengers.

Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) has announced a new partnership with Uber as part of efforts to enhance passenger mobility and improve the overall airport experience.
The collaboration introduces a dedicated Uber pick-up zone located on the departures level between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The area has been clearly signposted to help passengers locate their rides more easily while supporting smoother traffic flows around the terminal complex.
Passengers can arrange journeys through the Uber mobile application and meet their drivers at the designated collection point.
New mobility option for travellers
Airport officials said the partnership forms part of wider plans to improve transport connectivity and increase flexibility for passengers travelling to and from the airport.
Cenk Özöztürk, Managing Director of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH, said the airport is continuing to invest in services and infrastructure to improve the passenger journey.
He noted that the partnership supports the airport’s ongoing “Next Chapter” programme, which focuses on enhancing airport services, operational processes and facilities.
Dedicated pick-up zone improves wayfinding
The new collection area has been designed to provide a clear and easy meeting point for both drivers and passengers. Signage throughout the terminals and route guidance within the Uber application direct users to the location.
Uber highlighted the importance of efficient transport links, particularly during busy holiday periods when demand for reliable onward travel increases.
More than 10 million passengers travelled through Cologne Bonn Airport during 2025. Airport officials believe the partnership will provide travellers with greater choice while improving accessibility and convenience as passenger numbers continue to grow.
