Brussels Airport is relocating its bus station as part of wider preparations for a new intermodal hub focused on improving public transport connectivity.

Brussels Airport (BRU) is relocating its bus station as part of ongoing preparations for the airport’s future intermodal transport hub development.
From today, all bus services operating to and from the airport will move to a temporary five-platform station located approximately 100 metres from the departure and arrival hall.
Brussels Airport bus station relocation supports future intermodal hub
The relocation is designed to clear space for construction works linked to the airport’s Hub 3.0 infrastructure programme, a major redevelopment project scheduled for completion by 2030.
The temporary station will continue serving all existing bus operations, including regional services operated by De Lijn and STIB/MIVB, alongside intercity coach providers including Flibco, Flixbus and Airport Express.
According to the airport, the relocation will not affect bus schedules or service frequency.
The new station will remain on level 0 of the airport complex and will be connected to the terminal building via a covered walkway and newly created access route.
In addition to bus operations, passenger luggage lockers currently located near the existing station will also move to the new site. The airport stated that this will continue providing convenient baggage storage facilities for travellers visiting the city before or after flights.
Brussels Airport highlighted the importance of bus transport within its wider mobility network. Around 600 buses operate to and from the airport each day, exceeding the number of daily flight movements.
Approximately 1.3 million passengers and airport employees use bus services annually to travel to and from the airport.
The long-term Hub 3.0 project is intended to bring together multiple transport modes into a single integrated mobility hub.
Plans include improved access to the underground railway station, a redeveloped central bus station, a new intercity coach platform, renovated taxi areas and a future airport tram terminus.
The airport stated that the investment forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen its role as a regional mobility hub for passengers, employees and local residents.
The project reflects wider efforts across the European airport sector to improve public transport integration and support more sustainable passenger access infrastructure.
