Dublin Airport (DUB) has opened new Fast Track security facilities in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, giving passengers access to dedicated lanes intended to speed up the journey through security.

The facilities are the latest in a series of improvements and investments by airport operator daa. The programme is aimed at offering increased choice and improving the passenger experience at the airport.

How Fast Track works at Dublin Airport

According to the airport, Fast Track allows passengers to clear security in less than 10 minutes, giving them more time before their flight to use a lounge, eat and drink, browse the shops or make their way to the gate without a rush. The service has become increasingly popular with both business and leisure passengers, particularly those looking to make the most of their time at the airport.

Fast Track is currently available in Terminal 1 from 04:00 to 21:00 and in Terminal 2 from 04:00 to 18:00. In Terminal 1, the entrance is located in Departures on Level 3, Mezzanine Floor. In Terminal 2, it is located in Departures on Level 2, before security.

Passengers can pre-book Fast Track online or through the Dublin Airport App from €7.99 per person, with pricing varying depending on the date, time and terminal. It can also be purchased at the airport using self-service kiosks in the departures areas, or by paying directly at the Fast Track entrance.

Vincent Harrison, Chief Commercial and Development Officer at Dublin Airport, said: “We are delighted to open our new Fast Track facilities in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, giving passengers another way to enjoy a quicker and easier journey through Dublin Airport.

“We’re continually looking at ways we can make the airport better for passengers, and investment in facilities like these is an important part of that. Fast Track helps take some of the friction out of the journey, getting passengers through security quickly and giving them more time to relax, shop, dine or simply make their way to the gate feeling prepared and unhurried.”

Grant Thornton’s sponsorship of the Fast Track facilities continues a partnership with Dublin Airport that began in 2018. Steve Tennant, Managing Partner, Grant Thornton Ireland and EMEA CEO of the Grant Thornton Advisors multinational platform, said: “Our ongoing partnership with Dublin Airport reflects a shared commitment to helping people and businesses stay connected. We’re proud to support the new Fast Track facilities, which provide passengers with greater certainty, convenience and efficiency, supporting smoother journeys through a gateway that connects Ireland with opportunities around the world.”

Other recent improvements include new C3 security scanning technology across both terminals, the completion of a three-year transformation of the food and beverage offering and the opening of the Phoenix Lounge in Terminal 1.
