Panel discussion: The need for data exchange standards in the aviation industry

Panel discussion

Date: 5 December 2018
Time: 11:30

Data is the oil of the 21st century but unlike oil the real value of data can only be realised when it is shared amongst stakeholders. Sharing data means multiplying data, enriching data and analysing data, thereby increasing its business value. But to exchange data in a professional, cost-efficient way requires that appropriate standards, or even better, industry or global standards, are in place. This panel will discuss the status quo and ongoing developments of aviation industry data exchange and provide an overview on local benefits and global developments in technical standards for data exchange, covering both standard data models and IT interface standards.
