Munich Airport (MUC) has transformed its MAC Forum into the largest padel arena in the region with the launch of its inaugural Padel Days event, creating a sports destination for passengers, employees and the wider community.

The event opened with a major weekend launch that attracted around 5,000 visitors, marking the start of a three week programme running until 6 September 2026. Three specially constructed courts have been installed in the airport’s event space, offering opportunities for beginners and experienced players to experience one of the world’s fastest growing sports.

Operating daily from 8.00am to 10.00pm, the venue combines sporting competitions, public play sessions and entertainment designed to encourage visitors to spend time at the airport beyond the traditional travel experience.

Demand has been strong from the outset, with both the Munich City Championships and the Bavarian Championships reaching full capacity before the competitions began. Visitors can still book court sessions through the daily Book and Play programme, allowing members of the public to take part throughout the event period.

The opening ceremony featured remarks from Dr Jan-Henrik Andersson, who described the initiative as another example of the MAC Forum’s role in hosting experiences that bring people together while reinforcing Munich Airport’s position as more than a transport hub.

The event is being held under the patronage of Dr Markus Söder, adding further significance to the airport’s newest community focused attraction.

For Munich Airport, the debut of Padel Days reflects a broader strategy of transforming terminal spaces into year round destinations that combine sport, culture and entertainment with the passenger journey. By welcoming thousands of visitors for its opening weekend, the airport has demonstrated how major public events can strengthen community engagement while creating memorable experiences beyond the departure gate.
