Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is piloting a camera-based parking guidance system to improve traffic flow, reduce stress for drivers, and support sustainability goals.

Just in time for the busy end of year holiday period, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is introducing a new system in the Terminal 3 Garage to guide drivers to available spaces and improve traffic flow.
The camera based guidance system uses sensors to monitor each parking space in real time, providing accurate data on garage occupancy and visual indicators to direct drivers to available spaces on each parking level. Drivers will see simple red and green indicator lights throughout the garage, guiding them to open spaces and clearly showing where parking is available. This can reduce the time spent searching for a space, cutting both driving time and stress before catching a flight. The system can also help drivers locate their vehicle on return and supports PHX’s sustainability goals by reducing vehicle circulation and idling times.
Phoenix Sky Harbor is working with parking manager ACE Parking on the “Portier VISION” system. The airport is piloting the technology in the Terminal 3 Garage, which has more than 2,000 parking spaces, with plans to expand it to the larger Terminal 4 garage.
All customers parking at Phoenix Sky Harbor during the busy holiday season are encouraged to reserve a space in advance to ensure parking availability at the airport. Further information or reservations can be made at skyharbor.com/parking.
