Lufthansa Cargo to strengthen outreach at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Lufthansa Cargo, on 04 November 2023, announced they opened a new route at Stockholm Arlanda Airport as an important expansion of their vast network.

The new route will be an important addition to Lufthansa Cargo’s existing freighter services operated at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and further establish Lufthansa Cargo in the north of Europe and Scandinavia. Operating a newly acquired Airbus A321F aircraft and focusing on high-value goods such as technology, pharmaceuticals and machinery, the new route gives the opportunity for late deliveries from Stockholm Arlanda on Fridays and offers connections from Frankfurt to Lufthansa Cargo’s worldwide network the next morning.

“There is a great confidence in the Swedish market, and Lufthansa Cargo’s investment in a direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport is a clear sign of this,” says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. “Lufthansa Cargo will play an important role in connecting Stockholm to important freight hubs and well-established as well as emerging markets in Northern Europe and the rest of the world. To further facilitate for important goods such as technology and pharmaceuticals to be delivered at shorter times is and a main goal of Swedavia,” she says.

“Sweden is known for its high-value exports, including technology, pharmaceuticals and machinery. These industries require reliable and efficient air freight services to move their products around the world. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers even faster transit times from the Nordic countries. The new freighter service from Stockholm offers attractive uplift options for local industry, where both lead time and quality are key. The fact that the flights run through the night from Friday to Saturday creates opportunities for both imports and exports at the end of the industry’s production week,” says Henning Oldendorf, Head of Sales and Handling Nordics & Baltics at Lufthansa Cargo.

The route Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Frankfurt Airport (FRA) will be operated once a week, through the night from Friday to Saturday.
