Ezeiza leads Latin America with airport wide AI ramp deployment

Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) has completed an airport wide deployment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered ramp analytics platform, strengthening its position as a regional leader in digital airside operations.

Following a 90 day proof of concept, Ezeiza progressed to full implementation after validating a secure and scalable on premises architecture aligned with Argentina’s data sovereignty, privacy and cyber security standards. The evaluation was conducted in coordination with national authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and operational resilience within a critical infrastructure environment.

The airport wide system now incorporates more than 60 on premises cameras, providing continuous visibility across ramp operations and aircraft turnaround activities. Real time analytics enable operational teams to monitor milestone adherence, detect process deviations and generate data driven insights designed to improve safety performance, on time departures and overall efficiency.

Ezeiza intends to share selected operational intelligence with airlines and ground handling partners operating at the airport, extending performance benefits across the ramp ecosystem and supporting more coordinated airside decision making.

As one of the first airports in Latin America to deploy AI at this scale for ramp optimisation, Ezeiza has helped shape a regional framework for embedding advanced computer vision technology into daily operational workflows while maintaining strict privacy protections.

The initiative was led by Luciano Verri, Corporate IT Manager, Mariano Bonora, IT Manager Ezeiza, and Pablo Quetglas, CCO Manager EZE, who aligned safety, operational and compliance objectives and oversaw implementation.

The platform was delivered in partnership with Synaptic Aviation, whose locally managed deployment model balances real time performance with robust security controls. The collaboration demonstrates how airports can integrate AI analytics into camera infrastructure while safeguarding sensitive operational data.
