Budapest Airport has invested in noise protection measures and community support, including funding for a children’s hospital and local institutions to reduce environmental impact.

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) has announced a significant investment in community noise protection and social initiatives, including a major donation to a national children’s hospital.
The airport operator, part of the VINCI Airports network, has provided 250 million forints to the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute, supporting thermal and noise insulation improvements.
Budapest Airport noise protection investment supports community wellbeing
The funding forms part of a broader strategy aimed at reducing noise impact on communities surrounding the airport. In addition to the hospital donation, a further 220 million forints has been allocated to improve noise insulation at schools, nurseries and public institutions in nearby areas.
Beneficiaries include educational and community facilities in Vecsés, Kőbánya and surrounding districts, where upgrades such as window and door replacements are expected to significantly improve indoor environments.
Budapest Airport stated that the initiative is designed to balance operational requirements with social responsibility, ensuring that airport activity delivers value beyond economic benefits.
Máté Lóga, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: “It is important for both Budapest Airport and the Hungarian state that the operation of the airport should create value not only in economic, but in social terms as well.”
The investment builds on existing programmes, including the For the Neighbors of Budapest Airport Foundation scheme, which has already received nearly 3 billion forints to support residential noise protection.
The latest measures are expected to benefit hundreds of children and families by improving conditions in healthcare and educational settings.
By expanding its noise mitigation efforts, Budapest Airport continues to prioritise environmental impact reduction while strengthening its relationship with local communities and supporting long-term sustainable airport operations.
