Mr. Sugai joined Narita International Airport Corporation in April 1990.
He has been in charge of security strategies since 2012 and built up the new landside security system with the technology as a project leader in 2015.
As the officer responsible for the leading security airports in Japan and East Asia, he has been called on to provide information in a variety of fora. He takes part in the drafting of security regulations in Japan and has also participated significantly in building the foundations for security not only in Japan but also in East Asia by injecting his views in the preparation of national civil aviation security programs. In addition, he has provided information for security training and assistance activities at various airports abroad.
