Daveed Gartenstein-Ross

Daveed Gartenstein-Ross is the Chief Executive Officer of Valens Global, as well as a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and an Associate Fellow at the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism – The Hague. He is internationally recognized for his work, as a scholar and practitioner, in advancing the public’s understanding of violent non-state actors and devising innovative approaches to countering the threats they pose. Gartenstein-Ross’s previous positions include Senior Advisor to the Director of the Office for Community Partnerships at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Fellow with Google’s think tank Jigsaw, and Adjunct Assistant Professor in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program. He is the author or volume editor of twenty-two books and monographs. Gartenstein-Ross holds a Ph.D. in world politics from the Catholic University of America, a J.D. from the New York University School of Law, and a 10,000 Small Businesses Certificate of Entrepreneurship from Babson College.
