Panel discussion: Industry, government or passenger, who should pay?

Date: 5 December 2018
Time: 11:25

Terrorism, it is argued, is not the fault of the aviation industry, so why should it have to foot the bill for aviation security controls? On the other hand, why should the taxpayer have to pay increased taxes to better secure those members of the general public who elect to fly? Then again, as aviation security is not all about counterterrorism, is it even right for the industry to abdicate its responsibility to protect itself? And how can we ensure that governments as well as airport and airline management take their responsibilities seriously and are held to account? This panel discussion will attempt to answer these questions and more!
