London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is leading a major regional delegation at this year’s UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum as part of wider efforts to drive investment and economic growth across the Gatwick Region.
More than 60 representatives from business, local government and academic organisations are attending the event in Leeds between 19 and 21 May under the “Invest Gatwick Region” initiative.

The delegation represents communities and organisations across West Sussex, East Sussex, Brighton & Hove, Croydon, Kent and Surrey.
According to London Gatwick, the initiative is designed to strengthen regional collaboration while attracting inward investment, supporting long term economic growth and creating new employment opportunities.
As part of the programme, the delegation is launching a digital investment prospectus featuring 28 development ready opportunity sites across the region with a combined value exceeding £1.4 billion.
The work forms part of the Gatwick Region Airport Economic Zone, which was launched by London Gatwick in 2025 as the United Kingdom’s first aviation powered economic zone.
The Airport Economic Zone aims to position the region surrounding the airport as a globally connected hub for investment, international trade and tourism development.
Margaret Ford said the Airport Economic Zone highlights the significant economic contribution of the wider region, which generates around seven per cent of the United Kingdom’s gross value added.
During the three day forum, the delegation will host a series of presentations, networking events and discussions focused on regional development and airport economic zones.
Gatwick Diamond Business is also supporting the initiative through partnership events and stakeholder engagement activities during the conference.
Brett North, Executive Director of Gatwick Diamond Business, said the event provides an important opportunity to demonstrate the scale of commercial and investment potential across the Gatwick Region.
UKREiiF is one of the United Kingdom’s largest investment and infrastructure events, bringing together investors, developers, local authorities and senior decision makers from across the property and infrastructure sectors.
More than 16,000 delegates are expected to attend this year’s forum.
