Amy Leete
Amy Leete is ACI EUROPE’s Communications Manager, working at the intersection of aviation, communications, and emerging technology. Alongside her work in European airport communications, Amy is a researcher and specialist in quantum computing, with a particular interest in its application to complex aviation and transport challenges.
Her MSc research at the University of York explored a quantum approach to Air Traffic Flow Management, and exists as Europe’s first use of a quantum computer to optimise real flight data. Amy’s research focuses on the practical application of quantum computing, AI, and advanced optimisation techniques to real-world aviation problems. She is particularly interested in how quantum technologies will develop from emerging capability into practical tools for improving the efficiency, resilience, and adaptability of the aviation system.
ArticleIs quantum computing ready for take-off in aviation?
As demand for air travel soars, and our skies are busier than ever, will the cutting-edge world of quantum computing provide a new avenue for optimisation? Quantum researcher Amy Leete explores how this new technology is already showing promise – and could fast overtake AI in tackling increasingly complex aviation challenges.
