Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and SAVE Group, one of Italy’s leading airport management companies, have announced a new partnership to support operations for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The agreement builds on an already strong collaboration and highlights Venice Marco Polo Airport, Italy’s third largest intercontinental airport, as a key hub during the event.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Games will host over 3,500 athletes from more than 90 countries, along with federations, coaches, delegations, media, and an estimated two million spectators. The partnership aims to ensure smooth and efficient travel experiences for all visitors arriving through SAVE Group’s airports during this major global event.

Through this collaboration, Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and SAVE Group will work together to develop dedicated operational solutions to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic. These efforts will focus on ensuring comfort, accessibility, and seamless connections for travellers heading to Olympic and Paralympic venues across northern Italy.

SAVE Group will operate 178 daily flights to and from Venice Marco Polo Airport and is preparing for the logistical challenges of handling thousands of pieces of oversized sports equipment in a single day. In addition, Treviso Airport and Verona Airport, also managed by SAVE Group, will operate 46 and 48 daily flights respectively, expanding capacity to accommodate the influx of athletes, spectators, and delegations.

The partnership also reinforces shared values between sport and aviation. The Olympic Rings and Paralympic Agitos will be displayed in the departures area of Venice Airport, an initiative by the Veneto Region symbolising inclusiveness and the global spirit of the Games.

Enrico Marchi, President of SAVE Group, said: “We are proud to support the Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, supporting the event with our airports not only as strategic infrastructures, but also as Official Supporter of a reality that embodies sporting and social values that we fully share. The role of the airport system we manage is to link countries, cultures, and communities through a far-reaching network of flights. For the Milano Cortina 2026 we will deploy the skills and professionalism of the people who work in our airports, with the enthusiasm of contributing to the success of an event that will put our country in the spotlight worldwide.”

Andrea Varnier, CEO of Milano Cortina 2026, added: “We are proud to welcome SAVE Group, a strategic partner in organising the Games, an event that offers our country the opportunity to be at the centre of the world. For years, we have been preparing to welcome millions of visitors from more than 90 countries worldwide: an extraordinary number that makes this sporting event unique and spectacular. The location of SAVE’s airports, spread across northern Italy and well integrated into the country, makes them true gateways to the Games.”
