Denver International Airport (Den) in the state of Colorado is the fifth busiest airport in the United States. In 2017 it handled more than 61 million passengers.

Opened in 1995 after over 10 years of delays, Denver International Airport is one of a small number of large hubs in the US that run hundreds of flights each day to over 195 destinations around the world.

The airport features a 7.5 acre solar farm that generates 3.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity every year. This is equivalent to half of the energy required to operate the underground rail system which carries passengers from the main terminal to the three separate concourses.
