Description
Metalite designed and supplied its first portable landing light in the 1960s in response to a requirement recognised by the UK Royal Air Force. Since that time Metalite has specialised in the design and manufacture of portable airfield lighting systems and is now able to offer a full range of portable equipment including portable runway and taxiway edge lights, portable approach lights, portable PAPIs and portable obstruction lights. The range includes battery and generator powered equipment able to supply both visual and NVG compatible light outputs. Products can be supplied as individual units supported by freestanding battery chargers or in road going trailers with integral charging facility. Metalite’s military equipment is in service with the Armed Forces of many countries around the world.
Civil customers include International and Domestic airports, multinational oil, and gas corporations such as Shell and BP, humanitarian organisations and peacekeeping missions such as the United Nations.
