Airport Authority to build new T-hangars at John C. Tune Airport

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) will build eight new T-hangars at John C. Tune Airport (JWN), one of the busiest general aviation airports in Tennessee. The new T-hangars will provide airplane shelter and storage for local aircraft owners.
In December 2010, the MNAA requested proposals for the construction of the T-hangars. After evaluating the proposals based on preset qualifications, the Authority selected local construction company Baron & Dowdle for the project. Baron & Dowdle will continue the Authority’s objective to promote, encourage and stimulate participation of diverse business enterprises (DBE). The company will partner with DBE-certified subcontractors Nate Hatcher Backhoe, Logik, Inc., Geotek Engineering, BEAC Engineering, G&J Contractors, and Thornton & Associates to result in 7 percent DBE participation. Baron & Dowdle will also utilize Group Electric, Wolverine Construction and Full Fab, Inc. for the metal building.

Tune, especially during its 25th anniversary year, the Authority is investing in the growth and sustainability of Middle Tennessee.”
The Authority anticipates beginning construction of the hangars this summer and plans to be finished by October this year.
