Airport Solutions Mexico

The airports sector in Mexico is projected to show significant growth and development in coming years, spurred on by burgeoning air passenger demand and a need to upgrade Mexico’s transport infrastructure to assist the country’s economic growth. Mexico has a major programme of airport expansion planned, including a US $170m airport infrastructure renewal programme and a brand new state-of-the-art airport in Mexico City to be built, with an estimated cost of $9.2bn.

The greater LATAM region is also experiencing high levels of passenger growth and investment into the airports sector. Traffic across LATAM is expected to grow 4.7% a year on average through to 2034, with the region serving 605 million passengers. Latin America airlines’ traffic rose 9.3% in 2015 alone. In Chile, significant construction and investment projects are expected to treble the capacity of the Santiago Airport by 2030 to 29 million passengers per annum. In addition, Colombia will see a major infrastructure project with the $1.26 billion expansion of the El Dorado Airport. Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru, is undergoing a major $950million expansion project, a second runway is expected to be complete at the end of 2018 with expansion completed by 2030. Finally, Panama City is undergoing an Airport City and new terminal project due to be complete by December 2026, with an expected spend of $840 million, doubling annual capacity from 9 to 18 million.

Significant investments across the whole region make Airport Solutions Mexico 2017 a timely event with fantastic opportunities for the entire airports and aviation industry to present or source the latest and most innovative products whilst discussing opportunities, trends and the future of the LATAM airports market.
