Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is bringing a major international aviation conference to Ireland this April.

CAPA’s CEO Summit, Airlines in Transition will feature up to 30 airline chief executives and more than 200 senior figures from the international aviation sector. Billed as the biggest gathering of chief executives from full service, hybrid and low-cost airlines, Airlines in Transition is the pre-eminent global airline strategy summit. This year’s CAPA CEO Summit will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt Hotel in Co Wicklow on 11-12 April.

“DAA is delighted to host this influential gathering of airline CEOs and senior executives,” said DAA Deputy Chief Executive, Oliver Cussen. “On their visit to Dublin and Wicklow they’ll experience at first hand the warm Irish welcome in 2013, which is the year of The Gathering and see the huge potential to grow their business to Dublin and Cork airports.”

Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman of CAPA – and the architect of the Airlines in Transition programme said the “unique format of the Summit is designed to stimulate high-level discussion between industry leaders, with maximum audience participation”. He added that CAPA was “expecting 20-30 airline CEOs and a number of airport and other CEOs to participate as panellists” at the event.

The goal of the Summit is to examine the various high level issues that shape where the world’s airlines are heading – that is: the next generation of global airlines.

“As low cost airlines evolve and take on more of the characteristics of full service carriers and each seeks to connect more effectively to the other, a whole array of legal, operational, strategic, commercial and technological issues arise,” according to Mr Harbison. “The Airlines in Transition forum is designed to explore how this new industry is evolving, sharing experiences from every region of the world and from a variety of airlines.”
